HEEoE Clinical Academic Internship Programme – nominations invited.
Closing date 12 noon, 17 September 2015

Health Education East of England in collaboration with Health Education West Midlands is offering the first step in research training for health professionals currently working within the NHS in East of England. The internship programme is aimed at practitioners who have an interest in pursuing a clinical academic career within the NHS.

Health Education England is committed to developing clinical academic careers for all professionals working within the health economy.

The HEE has the responsibility to promote the government's strategy ‘Developing the Role of the Clinical Academic Researcher in the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions’ (March 2012)’. The internship programme is designed for aspiring non-medical clinical academics who want to develop a health related research component to their career. The programme will assist interns to acquire pre- master’s level experience and knowledge in clinical academic research with the support of an expert supervisor. Normally the next step would be to make application for a Masters in Research.

The application process is open to the following non-medical health care professionals working at AfC bands 5,6, or 7:

ü Healthcare Science Professions

ü Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors

ü Allied Health Professionals

ü Dental Hygienists, Dental Nurses and Dental Therapists

ü Operating Department Practitioners

ü Clinical Psychologists

ü Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

Information about the application process and the application form can be found in the documents at the bottom of this page.
