Dr Kevork (Kev)
Hopayian, GP from Leiston Surgery in Suffolk, was the recipient of a Primary
Care Researcher Bursary in 2010. Kev’s interest is in piriformis syndrome –
sciatic pain felt along the leg caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve by the
piriformis muscle. Working with advisors from both the East of England Research
Design Service (RDS) and the Norfolk and Suffolk Primary and Community Research
Office, Kev collaborated with Dr Caitlin Notley from UEA to publish a
systematic review of low back pain and sciatica patients’ expectations and experiences of health care. The paper can be found here. If you are interested in finding out more about the bursary scheme, which is due for relaunch late in 2014, then please email SNCCG.ResearchDevelopment@nhs.net |
