Public and Patient Involvement in Research (PPIRes)

The Public & Patient Involvement in Research (PPIRes) project is a local initiative to enable and encourage volunteer members of the public to collaborate with researchers in local Trusts and Universities in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The PPIRes group is hosted by NHS South Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). PPIRes has a panel of approximately 70 lay members from Norfolk and Suffolk and works closely with researchers to develop proposals from initial idea through to dissemination.

To achieve the level of Patient Public Involvement (PPI) that funding bodies now expect in the design of your study we would recommend that you allow a minimum of two months from initial contact with PPIRes to the date of your application submission, PPIRes involvement can be provided over a shorter period, but the PPI evidence being submitted in your application will not hold the same weight as a fully collaborative approach over a longer period of time.
