iQuit in Practice

The iQuit in Practice study was funded by the NIHR School for Primary Care Research.

The study was a multicentre, UK-wide trial and locally participants were recruited from GP practices across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The study was a randomised controlled trial of tailored web- and text-based facilitation of smoking cessation in primary care.

The iQuit system was not found to be more effective than routine care in the short term, but may increase long term abstinence.

The research findings are published in the journal Addiction and can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
