Post traumatic stress symptoms in young mothers

A student study (Doctorate level) involving East Coast Community Healthcare and Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust studying Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms (PTSS) in younger mothers. Research suggests that anxiety is a common problem for women who have just had a baby.This research study looked at thoughts and experiences of young mothers during birth and after birth, in order to see if they linked to PTSS. The study found links between; 1) Feeling out of control during birth and PTSS; 2) negative thoughts/beliefs during birth and PTSS; 3) negative thoughts/feelings after birth and PTSS and 4) symptoms of depression following birth and PTSS.
