Our Annual Report for April 2022-March 2023 details the work of our team at NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (NWICB). We ensure our organisation meets the legal duties and other requirements that relate to research set out in the Health and Care Act 2022. These include the duty to facilitate or otherwise promote research and the duty to facilitate or otherwise promote the use in the health service of evidence obtained from research.

As a team we support primary, community and social care research and evaluation across Norfolk and Waveney via three main workstreams:

• Research Development

• Research Management and supporting delivery of research studies

• Evidence and Evaluation

We are committed to ensuring that opportunities to engage with, and participate in, research are provided to all of our population across Norfolk and Waveney and we make sure that public involvement and engagement is threaded throughout our three workstreams.

Our report contains case studies highlighting evidence briefings produced by local research teams, successful primary care research, evaluations and working with voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations.
